The Life You Were Made For - Humility Over Pride
Scripture Focus
This week we looked at King Nebuchadnezzar in Daniel 4, a man of immense power who let pride pull him away from God. Using Job 41, Pastor Stephen identified four characteristics of pride that quietly block us from the life God designed for us:
Key Points
A Prayerless Life — Pride says "I can handle this on my own." But Philippians 4:6 calls us to bring everything to God in prayer, not just the things we can't manage alone.
Harsh Words — How we speak about, and to others, reveals what's in our hearts. Ephesians 4:29 reminds us that our words should build others up, not tear them down.
Breaking Commitments — Pride makes our own comfort a higher priority than our promises. James 5:12 calls us simply to let our yes be yes.
Unwillingness to Serve — When we put ourselves first, we miss the posture God calls us to. Philippians 2:3-4 invites us to value others above ourselves.

Closing Prayer
Lord, thank you that you celebrates our greatness.. Forgive us for the ways pride has crept in and pulled us away from you and from the people around us. May we walk in the humility that Jesus modeled, knowing that the greatest version of us looks more like Him. Expand our lives to the size of our calling, not the size of our ego. Amen.
